1. India successfully launched weather observation satellite Cartosat 2 Series and 29 other spacecraft. Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO) successfully placed these satellites in the orbit with the PSLV C-40 launch vehicle.

भारत ने मौसम की निगरानी करने वाले कार्टोसैट-2 उपग्रह का सफल प्रक्षेपण किया। इसके साथ 29 अन्य उपग्रहों को भी छोड़ा गया है। भारतीय अंतरिक्ष अनुसंधान संगठन (इसरो) ने पीएसएलवी सी-40 प्रक्षेपण यान से इन उपग्रहों को सफलतापूर्वक कक्षा में स्थापित किया।

2. West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee has been honoured with a Doctorate of Literature (D.Litt.) degree by the Calcutta University for her social service.

कलकत्ता विश्वविद्यालय ने पश्चिम बंगाल की मुख्यमंत्री ममता बनर्जी को उनकी द्वारा की गयी सामाजिक सेवा के लिए डॉक्टरेट ऑफ लिटरेचर (डी लिट) की मानद उपाधि से सम्मानित किया।

3. Hyderabad will host the World Congress on Information Technology (WCIT) 2018 from 19 to 21 February, 2018.

4. Gallup International Association (GIA) has ranked Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi as the number three in its annual survey of world leaders. German Chancellor Angela Merkel has topped this list.

गैलप इंटरनेशनल एसोसिएशन (जीआईए) ने भारतीय प्रधानमंत्री नरेंद्र मोदी को विश्व नेताओं के अपने वार्षिक सर्वेक्षण में तीसरा स्थान दिया है। जर्मनी की चांसलर एंजेला मार्केल इस सूची में शीर्ष स्थान पर हैं।

5. India has emerged as a top borrower from the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB) in 2017.

भारत 2017 में एशियाई बुनियादी ढांचा निवेश बैंक (एआईआईबी) के शीर्ष उधारकर्ता के रूप में उभरा है।

6. Bollywood actor Shahrukh Khan will be honored the 24th annual Crystal Award at the 48th Annual Meeting of World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland. He will get the award for “his leadership in championing children’s and women’s rights in India.

बॉलीवुड अभिनेता शाहरुख खान को स्विट्ज़रलैंड के दावोस में विश्व आर्थिक मंच (डब्ल्यूईएफ) की 48वीं वार्षिक बैठक में 24वें वार्षिक क्रिस्टल पुरस्कार से सम्मानित किया जाएगा। उन्हें यह सम्मान भारत में बच्चों और महिलाओं के अधिकारों के समर्थन के लिए दिया जाएगा।

7. Eminent Hindi writer Doodhnath Singh passed away. He was 81.

प्रसिद्ध हिंदी लेखक दूधनाथ सिंह का निधन हो गया। वह 81 वर्ष के थे।

8. 24th Conference of Speakers & Presiding Officers of the Commonwealth was held in Victoria.

स्पीकरों और राष्ट्रमंडल के प्रीसाईंडिंग अधिकारियों के 24 वें सम्मेलन का आयोजन विक्टोरिया में हुआ।

9. India has extended a financial assistance of USD 45.27 million for upgrading Kankesanthurai (KKS) Harbour in northern Sri Lanka into a commercial port.

भारत ने उत्तरी श्रीलंका के कंसेंथुराई (केकेएस) हार्बर को वाणिज्यिक पोर्ट में अपग्रेड करने के लिए 45.27 मिलियन अमरीकी डालर की वित्तीय सहायता प्रदान की है।
